James G. Clark is a CG Generalist with a focus in environments, modeling, texturing, lookdev and lighting. He also dabbles in compositing, matte painting, character modeling and photobash concepting. Although he mostly works in VFX, James has maintained a steady connection to the Games industry through freelance work with Roblox and Mixamo(acquired by Adobe in 2015).

James’ journey into CG Art began with a lifetime of education in fine arts; followed by various technical and production roles at many California-based VFX studios including ILM, Atomic Fiction and Whiskytree. After a few years of paying dues; learning the ropes; and earning a Masters in 3D Modeling, James was finally able to earn a spot as a CG Artist in 2014.

James’ experience and abilities have made it possible for him to work all-over the world. His varied background gives him a unique understanding of many aspects of the inner-workings of VFX studios. As a technician, James has designed, installed and maintained hardware and systems at cutting edge VFX studios. As an artist, he has contributed to multiple blockbuster features and award-winning projects

With over 20 film credits to his name, James has made significant contributions to many VFX projects. His most notable achievements would be his contributions to Blade Runner 2049 and the final season of Game of Thrones; which earned a VFX Oscar and VFX Emmy.
